SEASON POINTS STANDINGS FOR TRACK RACING
ICX points do not correlate to or contribute to USA Cycling upgrade or ranking points.
Points categories:
Men – Pro/1/2, Cat 3, Cat 4, Cat 5 (Novice)
Women – Pro/1/2/3, Cat 4/5
Junior Men, Junior Women (for junior-specific races only - junior riders racing in a categorized field will be scored IN that field)
Points awarded for: Mass Start events (Thursday nights, Midwest Challenge, and August OMNIUM weekend), Keirin, Sprint Tournament State Champs -- no points awarded for timed or team events
Madisons DO award points, both riders on the team receive the same number of points
Top five places in each individual event on mass start nights are awarded – no “omnium” scoring for three-race nights (three sets of points awarded for regular race nights)
When fields (ie, cat 4 and 5) are combined, categories are split out for points. For example, if Joe places fourth in the men’s 4/5 points race, but he was the top cat 5 rider (1st-4th are cat 4s), he would get top points for cat 5.
POINTS TABLE:
1st = 6, 2nd = 4, 3rd = 3, 4th = 2, 5th = 1
Double points for state championship events (12 / 8 / 6 / 4 / 2)
Riders do not transfer any points with them if they upgrade during the season.
Final standings tiebreaker criteria:
1 - highest number of different events points were scored in
2- performance in State champ events
3- most recent events participated in
