MTB TRAILS AT THE CYCLOPLEX
interested in helping work on the MTB trails at the Cycloplex? Complete the below form to be added to our trail work session email list.
STXC MTB TRAIL SYSTEM
The northwest side of the Cycloplex property, on the hillside across from Cold Spring School and extending up into the wooded area above the Velodrome grandstands, is home to about one mile of bench-cut single track MTB trail. Installed in 2014 by an up-and-coming trail builder, the trails are used regularly by Marian University student-cyclists, Midwest Devo, and many community riders.
DUAL SLALOM COURSE
In 2020, the Cycloplex brought a new type of trail system to the grounds with the addition of a dual slalom trail system on the north side of the property, above and next to the Velodrome grandstands. At this time, the slalom trail is a work-in-progress but it is in need of riders and tires to dial in the surface.
There are a few areas draining poorly, we are working on those, so avoid the areas holding water when riding! we are also happy to have volunteers working on the course, contact us if you have questions or want to get involved.
RULES OF THE MTB TRAILS AT ICX
Trails outside of locked fences are open to the public at any given time, but please obey the following rules when enjoying the trails:
Helmets must be worn at ALL times.
For dual slalom, we strongly encourage long sleeve shirts and long pants be worn.
Do NOT ride any trails when raining or when the ground is muddy. This destroys the trails and makes it difficult for others to enjoy them long term.
Parking in the main parking lot only. Do not park alongside the road or anywhere in the grass.
Ride with your head up at all times - trails do overlap and cross each other. Be mindful of other riders.
While there is no fee to utilize any of our trails, we do accept any donations from the community and we funnel those donations into continued support and improvement of the grounds and trail system here. Those interested can access our donation page here.
